About the Position

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with new and existing high-level customers within large pharma, biotech, and major academic research institutions. The Business Development Manager will consult with customers on their research and offer solutions to help support clients in accomplishing their biomarker discovery and protein analysis goals. The Business Development Manager will drive strategic revenue growth opportunities within the territory and sell our client’s portfolio of services, kits, and instruments. The Business Development Manager will work well collaboratively in a matrixed sales environment with a passionate and skilled team to support the common goal of providing the best service and product to the customer.


About the Job Requirements

  • 5+ years technical sales experience with proteomics, genomics, or multi-omics tools
  • Life science capital equipment sales experience
  • Technical experience with proteomics or biomarker discovery is preferred
  • Knowledge of NGS and/or qPCR techniques is a plus
  • Adept at managing longer and more complex sales cycles for instrumentation and/or services sales
  • Relationship builder with a relevant network of established contacts within pharma, biotech, and academia
  • Demonstrated ability to close business with the key accounts within the territory
  • Hunter sales mentality and strong in the areas of account management and new business development
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Team player that works well collaboratively in a matrixed sales environment
  • Self-starter and consultative seller with a passion for science
  • BS, MS, or PhD in the Biological Sciences or related Life Science field
  • Field travel up to 40% as required
