About the Position

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with new and existing high-level customers within both academia (clinicians, professors) and industry (pharma, biotech). The Business Development Manager will consult with customers on their research and offer solutions to help support clients in accomplishing their biomarker discovery and protein analysis goals. The Business Development Manager will drive strategic revenue growth opportunities within the territory and sell our client’s portfolio of services, kits, and instruments. The Business Development Manager will work well collaboratively in a matrixed sales environment with a passionate and skilled team to support the common goal of providing the best service and product to the customer.


About the Job Requirements

  • Candidates must be based in Houston
  • Territory covers TX, OK, LA, MS, AR
  • 5+ years technical sales experience focused on genomics or multi-omics
  • Knowledgeable of NGS and qPCR techniques
  • BS, MS, or PhD in the Biological Sciences or related Life Science field
  • Previous experience as a Scientist or Researcher is preferred
  • Experience selling instrumentation and/or services and adept at managing longer and more complex sales cycles
  • Brings a network of established relationships of contacts and has closed business with the key accounts within the territory
  • Strong in the areas of account management and new business development
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and a demonstrated ability to close business
  • Team player that works well in a matrixed sales environment
  • Self-starter and consultative seller with a passion for science
