About the Role:
In this role, the Microscopy Sales Specialist will have an overall responsibility is to increase sales, market penetration and achieve sales budget by establishing sound business plans to achieve dollar volume and goals. The Microscopy Sales Specialist will be selling directly to scientists and end-users, execute sales plans and achieve established sales goals, as well as perform proper account management and ensure representation of microscopy and imaging products. This is a role providing essential service support in the biology and research community to further the development, applications, and knowledge of microscopy in research laboratories at universities, hospitals, biotechnology, and other related biomedical institutions.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop strategic sales plan for sales region and ensure achievement of sales budget and product mix.
- Expand sales channels to increase market penetration in designated product areas and markets.
- Provide applications and technical expertise on all product lines to build sales and support dealers within assigned region.
- Provide demonstrations, installations, training, and support to end-users of product technology and applications.
- Maintain effective dealer and customer relations.
About the Job Requirements:
- Territory: Central Valley, Sacramento, Davis
- Technical degree in Biosciences or related scientific field. BS is required, MS or PhD is preferred.
- Experience in sales, customer service, or in a customer facing role is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with microscopy applications preferred, with a strong knowledge of microscopy and scientific instruments (preference for high-performance imaging applications including confocal and super resolution).
- Mechanical aptitude for instrument demos, assembly, and integration.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate internally and externally, representing the Company professionally and effectively to customers and other external sources.
- Capability to prioritize and multi-task, managing multiple projects of varying magnitudes and velocities.
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others in a team selling environment and maintain them over time.
- Ability to routinely access and visit customer sites to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales.
- Up to 90% field work at customer sites with some overnight travel required.
