About the Position

As the Accounts Receivable Manager for this company’s military physician staffing division, you will be charged with completely re-engineering the division’s accounts receivable division and reshaping the culture. This A/R group still has many paper processes, so the person coming into this role will have a tremendous impact on the future of this division! 

  • The person coming into this role will be charged with re-engineering the accounts receivable process (still a paper process), help implement new technology as needed, and reshape the culture of the A/R group.
  • Manage a team of 13 direct reports in A/R (many of whom are clerical), implement new metrics for the team, and build a culture of accountability.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely preparation, distribution, and reconciliation of invoices in accordance with government contracts, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage the collections process, ensuring prompt follow-up on outstanding receivables, resolving billing discrepancies, and implementing collection strategies to minimize bad debt.
  • Work closely with accounting, operations, and external stakeholders

 

About the Candidate Profile

  • Strong leadership experience (managing 5-10 direct reports)- ability to reshape the culture and instill accountability
  • Solid background in process improvement/process re-engineering in order to get the department back on track
  • 10+ years of healthcare A/R experience (separate from RCM accounts receivable) 
  • Professional and polished- this person will have exposure to upper leadership due to the importance of re-engineering A/R 
  • Ideally: Exposure to government contracting or A/R experience from a healthcare staffing firm
  • Ideally: Strong technology acumen as this person will likely help implement new technologies to improve the A/R process
